On the menu tonight… Pizza of course!

Anyone that knows me, knows I have had an ongoing obsession with pizza my entire life. Just within the past couple of years, I have been making my own homemade pizza dough and pizzas. Today’s first blog will document just that. Tonight’s dinner – homemade pizza! First we’ll start with the dough. Which I love to switch up pretty much every time I make it. Tonight’s dough included the following ingredients..

Dough Ingredients:

12 oz. bottle of Corona
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
2 tbsp. olive oil
3 cups flour
1/2 cup corn meal
2 tbsp. yeast
1 tbsp. pepper

Popped all of the ingredients in to the bread machine (comes in so handy for the amount of times pizza dough is made around here) and we then realized we were out of pizza sauce. So, while the bread machine did it’s magic, I headed to Jewel. Now usually I just use Ragu pizza sauce that comes in a jar because well…it’s pretty damn good and does the trick! But in the future, I want to start experimenting with making my own pizza sauces. So stay tuned!

Once we returned from Jewel, I preheated the oven to 38o degrees and got to work on making the pizza. Rolled out the dough on to your typical thin, round pizza pan.  Tonight’s toppings included the following..

Pizza Toppings:

Ragu pizza sauce
Pepperoni
Kalamata olives
Bacon
Tomatoes
Mozzarella slices
Grated Cheddar mix

Popped the pizza in the oven and cooked the pizza for 18:37. Yes.. 37 seconds. Don’t ask why :) I also set my alarm for random times like 6:12am. Guess it’s just a thing. I have to say, this was the first time I put Kalamata olives on a pizza (I can eat those things like candy, love ’em!) and it was surprisingly good! I’ll have to try that again sometime. So here you go.. a picture of tonight’s din din. Looks like I’m having pizza leftovers for lunch tomorrow too! :)
